About Me

I created this section to cater to all you new model makers out there. When I was looking for some modeling help, a few really good people came to my rescue. And because of that, I would like to pass on what I have learned.

I am not, by any means, an expert in gmax, nor do I claim to be. My first tutorial is for the absolute beginner. You need only some knowledge in Windows to complete this tutorial.

I remember the feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment I got when I created a simple cube, textured it, and imported into Trainz. What a rush!! "I can do anything now", I thought.
I hope you feel the same way.
I just loaded gmax 1.2, so I will be updating all of my tutorials soon!

A note about textures:
Trainz textures must me in multiples of 2, meaning a texture that is 128 x 25 will not work. A texture that is 128x128 is good. 128x256 is good.
64x64 is good. Get it?

This was my first mistake, and I wanted you not to make it. You can see it right away when you bring your model into Surveyor. Your model will be white.

Now, here is another cool tip. Use TOE to view your models. It makes them look just like they would in Trainz, but without all of the overhead. I can not say enough about this program. It was created by tolaris. It is available at Trainz Luvr. You can keep both up at the same time if you have enough memory.

I am currently putting together a page full of tutorial links.

And a big thank you goes out to Richard Giberson for testing all of my tutorials.

I am keeping graphics to a minimum, so I have room on the site for important stuff.
